This study aims to determine how much influence the digitalization of the economy has on the development of global business. In conducting this research, the researchers used qualitative methods. According to Sugiono 2019, qualitative methods are methods based on the philosophy of postpositivism. Where data collection techniques use a combination of observation and interviews, documentation and inductive analysis. The results of the study show that digitalization in the world has driven rapid economic growth, especially increased growth impacted by efficiency born from the use of digital platforms. Countries in Asia, Europe and Africa have used digital platforms in their trading systems and public services. The result is innovation in the economic system, expanding the market by reaching various segments in the economic system. E-commerce, technology shopping, and exports. Online retail and online travel continue to increase their share of the digital economy, with CAGRs of 9 percent and 7 percent respectively from 2023 to 2028. Technology shopping is a major contributor to the digital economy of France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, the US, the UK, Japan and Germany. Exports of ICT products and services account for the largest share of the digital economy in India, South Korea and Mexico. The way we do business is changing. Startups, in particular, are at the forefront of this change, leveraging digital tools and platforms to disrupt traditional industries and create new ones. The future of startups is inextricably linked to the future of technology, and it’s a great time to be an entrepreneur. With the rise of automation, AI, and new digital platforms, the birth of new startups and their growth seems unstoppable. That’s the trend happening all over the world right now. However, the rapid growth of the digital economy, especially the rise in online shoppers, has led to a 30 percent increase in digital-related waste from 2010 to 2022, reaching 10.5 million tonnes globally. Electronic waste is commonly known as e-waste. The Market Research Report (2023) defines ‘e-waste’ as waste that includes discarded electronic devices ranging from household appliances to personal gadgets such as smartphones and laptops. Recycling e-waste involves the proper disposal and processing of these devices to extract valuable materials and minimise environmental impact. Recycling e-waste begins with collection from various sources.
