Peranan Perusahaan Jasa Pengurusan Transportasi (JPT) Antar Pulau-Via Kapal Laut Pada PT. Digul Jaya Semesta Merauke

Abstrak

PT Digul Jaya Semesta is one of the transportation management services companies between islands in Indonesia via sea vessels which acts as a company that provides goods delivery document management as well as inter-island sea transportation services between ports in Indonesia, specifically between the Port of Merauke to the Port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya and vice versa. This research aims to find out the role of PT Digul Jaya Semesta as a Transportation Management Services Company (JPT) in transportation services for managing the delivery of goods and managing the provision of documents in the inter-island transportation process via Ship. The research method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are divided into 3 methods, namely observation method, documentation method and interview method. The research results showed that PT. Digul Jaya Semesta as a Transportation Management Services Company (JPT) has an important role namely 1). Play a role in arranging documents required by Traders/Consignors, 2) play a role in the transportation process of sending merchandise between islands via domestic sea vessels, especially from Merauke Port to Tanjung War Port, Surabaya and vice versa. PT Digul Jaya Semesta as an Inter-Island Transportation Management Services Company or also called a Freight Forwarding Company already has a legal entity and this term is regulated in article 1 paragraph 15 in the Minister of Transportation Regulation or Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 49 of 2017 concerning the Implementation and Business of Transportation Management Services. This company is located at Jalan Raya Mandala Spadem Gang PPKN No. 19 Merauke City Papua. Meanwhile, the time of the research was carried out from March 16 to May 26, 2023. The obstacles faced by PT Digul Jaya Semesta as a Transportation Management Services Company are the busy ship schedule and the lack of thoroughness in employee work, which sometimes results in customer dissatisfaction.
